Essay I
At the beginning, the author states directly that the teachers take no pride in their educational achievement since they have taught their students a world that does not exist at all. Then he puts forward the idea that college is an altogether forgiving world by saying that students are treated patiently and kindly by their teachers even though their work are not worthy of being praise. At last, the author regards that teachers have nothing to take pride in their teaching career and the students should not deal with their co-workers and bosses in the way just like that of dealing with the teachers at college.
Essay II
The author argues with Jacob Neusner who thinks that “failure leaves no record” and that college is not a preparatory school for life. He lists many facts to support his own idea and to prove that Neusner is wrong. At last he comes to conclusion that college life is not easy, free, forgiving, comfortable, interesting and unchallenging fun for the students to spend their four years' srudying.

● Had I been more motivated, I might have passed those courses, but I just wasn't ready for university.
● The college years, for many of us, are when we start to be independent, make crucial decisions on our own, and become responsible for them. We meet people from different parts of the world that broaden our view of the world itself and help us understand each other better.
● The most miserable moments of a college student's life come during final exam week during the winter.
